Feira da Ladra

is by far the biggest market in Lisbon and is held every Tuesday and Saturday all through the year. It is said to have existed since the 12th century. It stretches from behind the São Vicente de Fora Church into Alfama. Just go down to the main street and follow the tramline till you see the church on the left side.

The Lisbon Crafts and Design Fair

is held on the first weekend of every month in the Jardim da Estrelajust across from the Estrela Basilica. Truly unique designs and craftsmanship at display in a beautiful setting. Don’t miss a stroll through the park.

Organic farmers market

at Principe Real mixed with stalls selling hand-made artifacts is held every Saturday along the side of the park. You can combine with a visit to the Museum of Natural History and Science, the Water Museum or the Botanical Garden. The Palacete Ribeiro da Cunha is also right next to the market.

Mercado da Ribeira (by Time Out)

The old market hall just across from the Cais do Sodré Train and Metro Station has reopened after a serious make-over. It is not really a traditional market hall now, but still one of the biggest open food markets combined with a trendy Food Court. Under one roof you will find the best chefs, restaurants, cultural events and cooking workshops.
