O Cardoso do Estrela d’Ouro
A traditional Portuguese tasca, a small local restaurant at the edge of the Estrela d’Ouro community, only 50 meters from the apartment. The restaurant is only open for lunch and dinner and is mostly packed with regular customers, a category to which we belong. You will almost always be asked to share a table with other guests and there is generally a feel of community in the modest premises. Don’t let the waiting time for a free table discourage you. The menu offers a simple traditional Portuguese fare at reasonable prices. We have never left hungry or disappointed. (Rua da Graça 22, phone: +351 218 865 230)
O Pitéu
By most locals considered the best restaurant in Graça. Portuguese food at it’s best. Meat, fish and sea food. Amêijoas à bulhão pato (clams with white wine sauce) and garlic shrimps highly recommendable. (Largo da Graça 95-96, phone: +351 218 871 067)
Estaminé
Don’t even think about staying in Estrela d’Ouro without paying a visit to this wonderful small café/gallery. Stop for a caipirinha or a specialty coffee after your evening sunset stroll to the Senhora do Monte viewpoint and enjoy the company of Joice and Luis from Brazil. Closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, otherwise open 2-8 pm. Reservations recommended. (Calçada Do Monte 86A, phone: +351 910 584 194)

d’As beatas
A small cozy restaurant a short walk down the hill on the other side of Rua da Graça. You will most often have to walk back up the hill hungry, if you show up unannounced, but everyone who visited the place love it and make sure to call in advance before their next visit. (Rua das Beatas 8, Open Tue-Sat 7-10:30pm, reservations at +351 218 863 397)

Camones Cine Bar
How fortunate we are to live in a street with live bands performing six nights a week. Since 2018 Claudia has transformed an old clandestine gambling club to become one of Lisbon’s most diverse music venues. From tango to kora and everything in between. Check tonight’s program at the board by the door of the red building, just before you leave the bairro as you head out for a walk. (Rua Josefa Maria 4B)
Damas
The one and only late-night music venue at Graça. Alexandra and Clara turned an old bakery into a music club regularly drawing international artists and music lovers from all parts of Lisbon. Dinners and drinks during the earlier hours of the evening and music from 11pm. Check tonight’s program on Facebook. (Rua da Voz do Operário 60)
